JACKETS BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL ARE ON THE AIR
First Broadcast is tonight, 4/3/25 when the Jackets Baseball team entertains Prairieville HS. Here is a Press Release for your reading pleasure:
DENHAM SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL IS ON THE AIR!
Jon Fine (Sports) Productions will be airing a select slate of Denham Springs HS Baseball and Softball games and all playoff games in 2025!
These broadcasts can be seen on YouTube @dsjacket vision (please Subscribe), on Family Radio-91.9 FM Baton Rouge and on the Internet at JonFineProductions.com (click Listen Live on the Denham Springs HS PBP page). Sport-n-Center Yellow Jackets Warm-Up gets the broadcasts underway 30 minutes before the first pitch. The first broadcast is tonight, Thursday, April 3, 5:30 pm, when the Jackets Baseball team plays host to Prairieville HS.
Josh Ward is the play-by-play announcer of Jackets Baseball. Darren Ferrante will call play-by-play for Jackets Softball, with David Bourque on color commentary. Producer Jon Fine will contribute interviews on Sport-n-Center Yellow Jackets Warmup.
Fine noted the success of DSHS Football and Boys and Girls Basketball Broadcasts on the radio, internet and @dsjacketvision. “We had a terrific following on our broadcast platforms carrying Yellow Jackets sports in the fall and winter. It is exciting as we anticipate similar success with Denham Baseball and Softball in the spring.”
Working with the accommodating Jackets coaching staffs also was a major positive. “Softball coach Brett Beard has been incredible to work with in Football. It is cool to expand our working relationship with him in his season as Softball coach. We eagerly anticipate working with Baseball coach Kyle Cedatol.”
Jackets Baseball play-by-play announcer Josh Ward, a Denham Springs HS graduate, was a Yellow Jackets assistant basketball coach. Ward is the long-time play-by-play voice of DSHS Football. He is an executive at Guaranty Broadcasting.
Dawson Albin is the Jackets color commentator. A 3-year starter for DSHS Baseball, Albin made all-state in 2018
Darren Ferrante, on Softball play-by-play, previously worked with Jon Fine Productions on Ascension Catholic Softball broadcasts a number of years back. He has worked as a computer producer on DSHS YouTube telecasts @dsjacketvision for Football and Basketball.
Softball color commentator David Bourque is a DSHS trainer and a former Jackets Softball coach. He is a beloved figure at Denham Springs HS.
Denham Springs Jr HS Basketball coach Bryan Berry, who assisted @dsjacketvision in Basketball, joins the team as the camera operator on YouTube.
Jon Fine co-hosted and produced daily 2-hour drive-time radio sports-talk programs in the Greater Baton Rouge area for close to 20 years. His programs (first SportsTalk, which changed its name to SportsGumbo), aired, at times, in New Orleans, Lake Charles, Monroe and Alexandria, in addition to the Baton Rouge market. His company, Jon Fine Productions, has produced numerous Denham Springs HS and area HS sports programming on television, radio and internet. Fine presently has an EBay store—ArrestedDevelopmentMediaGuides.
