Coach Cab’s (Kevin Cabellero’s) Denham Springs Boys Basketball team’s regular season finale is tonight, 7 pm tipoff, at Yellow Jacket Gym, as they entertain St Amant HS. Airtime is at 6:15 pm with Sport N Center Yellow Jackets Warmup. Josh Ward is on play-by-play, with Mitch Covington on color commentary. GIRLS PLAYOFF Round 2
After a rousing victory over Prairieville HS in the opening round of the playoffs, Coach Rudy Smith’s Denham Springs HS Girls Basketball team faces Slidell HS in the second round of the playoffs on Monday, 2/24 at Yellow Jacket Gym. We will have it for you on Family Radio, 91.9 FM, on the net at Jon Fine Productions.com and on YouTube @dsjacketvision. Josh Ward is on pbp, with Mitch Covington on color. Our broadcast will start with Sport N Center Yellow Jackets Warmup at 5:15 pm. I will be interviewing Denham Springs student section representative Jackson (no relation to Josh) Ward in Sport N Center Yellow Jackets Warmup.
BELATED SHOUT OUT
Prairieville Girl’s coach Chase Delrie is the son of one-time DSHS Football standout and assistant coach Rick Delrie, who also served as the first color commentator on our Jackets Football broadcasts. He now assists his son as the team bus driver and scorekeeper.
It was great to see Rick, Chase and Rick’s wife Alice Delrie, at last night’s game. Longtime broadcast listeners might remember that whenever it was determined that Denham Springs would win, play by play announcer Tommy Krysan would say “Put the cold ones in the freezer Alice”.

Congratulations to TK (Tommy Krysan), a long-time SportsGumbo sports talk show co-host (with yours truly) and as mentioned previously, Denham Springs HS play by play announcer, for being inducted into the St Bernard Sports Hall of Fame, Saturday, March 15, 7 pm at the Frederick Sigur Civic Center
