Mario Jerez

Has accomplished more in his sportscasting career at 27, than many (including Jon) do in a lifetime.  The word, precocious, has been used to describe Mario Jerez….A native of Kenner, Mario is a first generation American, whose parents emigrated from Guatemala…..Is the Spanish radio play-by-play voice of New Orleans Saints Football, which he has done since 2019.  His broadcasts can be heard on KGLA Radio, 105.7 FM, New Orleans/94/7 FM, Baton Rouge.  He has done Spanish pbp for LSU Football home games since 2012. Has worked with the New Orleans Pelicans as an in-studio host on their radio broadcasts (in English).…..Worked his way up the ranks at LSU’s campus station—KLSU—and participated in other campus journalistic endeavors, as a 2017 LSU Broadcasting Journalism graduate….Co-hosts a daily show on ESPN, 104.5 pm, Early Line, 2pm—3 pm….Has never had time for a wife.  Heck, we don’t know if he’ll have the time to do Denham Springs HS Football play-by-play with his frenetic schedule…..Desires to make his living as an English play-by-play announcer.  Is using the DSHS job for experience and as a possible stepping-stone.—countering Jon’s belief that DSHS pbp is the pinnacle of broadcasting....  Filling in for Josh Ward, who is on a one-year sabbatical, as Denham Play by Play announcer. ….Last name rhymes with (Tony and Eduardo) Perez, with the J in Mario’s last name pronounced as an H….We think he’ll do the Denham play-by play in English, but are not sure.  So, you must tune in to find out.

MARIO JEREZ is the Denham Springs Football Radio Play-by-Play announcer on Family Radio, 91.9 FM, and on the net (right here) at JonFineProductions.com.
